Graduate HR Generalist – Americas

About the role

Canonical is seeking a Graduate HR Generalist to support its Americas region. This remote position offers the chance to help shape a global HR function while working with a distributed, technology‑focused team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR support by answering employee questions, handling onboarding, benefits, and employment verifications.
• Maintain the HRIS with accurate, timely processing of team‑member changes and new joiners.
• Own global projects such as engagement, training, or culture initiatives.
• Partner with managers and employees to drive people strategy and HR processes.
• Process new hires, including country‑specific onboarding documentation and system setup.
• Support benefits enrollment and payroll coordination, ensuring timely and accurate data.
• Conduct regular audits of employment files to ensure GDPR compliance.

Required profile

• Strong academic record with notable achievements in high school and university.
• Internship experience in an HR or People team, preferably within the technology sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize complex workloads, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
• High integrity, honesty, and capability to handle confidential data.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and detail‑focused.
• Fluent in English; Spanish or Portuguese a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to four times per year for internal events.
