Regional HR Manager – Americas

About the role

Canonical is seeking a Regional HR Manager to support the Americas (AMER) region. You will lead the regional HR team, delivering precise, compliant and scalable HR operations, advising on the full employee life‑cycle and partnering with senior leadership across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale Canonical’s regional HR team.
• Deliver accurate, compliant HR operations and processes.
• Collaborate with the global People team to harmonise processes.
• Own talent development, succession planning, performance assessments, onboarding, culture and engagement initiatives.
• Partner with senior managers on performance management, organisational design, employee engagement and workforce planning.
• Coach people managers on employee‑relations matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Drive diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
• Design new policies and lead business‑critical HR projects globally.

Required profile

• Strong academic record.
• HR experience leading regional initiatives in a technology business.
• People‑management experience and senior stakeholder partnership.
• Hands‑on approach to daily HR routines.
• Experience in a remote‑first organisation.
• Data‑driven decision‑making.
• Knowledge of employment law across the Americas.
• Fluent business English.

Required skills

• Experience with immigration policies and mobility processes.
• Professional HR qualification (e.g., SHRM).
• Facilitation skills.
