Lead HR Generalist - Americas

About the role

Canonical is seeking a Lead HR Generalist for the Americas region to shape and deliver a future‑focused HR function. You will work remotely, partnering with regional and global HR leaders to provide precise, compliant, and scalable HR operations across the employee life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver precise and compliant HR operations in a timely manner with high accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with the Americas HR Manager and Global Head of HR to create impact across all regions.
• Own talent development, succession planning, performance assessments, onboarding, culture and engagement initiatives.
• Partner with managers on performance management, organizational design, employee engagement, rewards and workforce planning.
• Work with the HRIS team to refine day‑to‑day HR administration processes.
• Coach and advise people managers on employee‑relations issues across multiple countries.

Required profile

• Exceptional academic track record from high school through university.
• HR experience leading initiatives across regions within a technology business.
• Regional HR experience in Latin America (Brazil and/or Mexico a plus) with knowledge of local labour laws.
• Proven business partnering with senior stakeholders and mentoring experience.
• Strong project‑management skills and a hands‑on approach to daily HR routines.

Required skills

• Data‑driven decision making and HR analytics.
• Fluent business English (written and spoken).
• Experience with HRIS systems and databases.
• Proficiency in project‑management tools.

• Experience with immigration policies and mobility processes.
• Payroll and benefits oversight experience.
• Professional HR certifications.
• Facilitation and training delivery skills.
