MySQL Database Support Engineer – Remote (Americas)

About the role

Percona Support is a global team of elite engineers who love solving complex database behaviour. You will work alongside renowned database experts, helping customers’ DBA teams resolve critical issues and improve their database infrastructures.

Key responsibilities

• Gather data, investigate issues and deliver detailed analysis via email, instant messaging or voice.
• Conduct screen‑sharing sessions for production‑impacting problems to guide customers to quick resolutions.
• Create blog posts, answer forum questions, author knowledge‑base articles and host webinars for the open‑source community.
• Travel occasionally for team meetings, conferences or customer visits.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with MySQL and InnoDB.
• Proficiency with MySQL ecosystem tools, performance tuning, query and index optimization.
• Knowledge of backup solutions (Xtrabackup, mydumper) and point‑in‑time recovery.
• Experience with high‑availability setups (replication, routers, proxies) and zero‑downtime procedures.
• Strong Linux administration and methodical troubleshooting skills.
• Self‑taught attitude, eager to learn new technologies and work in English with customers.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
