Secondary Mathematics Teacher

About the role

Cambridge College Lima, part of Inspired Education, is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and student-centred Secondary Mathematics Teacher. The teacher delivers engaging and challenging mathematics lessons to secondary students, fostering numeracy, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities

• Create a stimulating, inclusive classroom that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, discussion and independent learning.
• Use varied teaching strategies and resources to meet the different needs of students.
• Assess, monitor and track progress, giving constructive, timely feedback and using assessment data to inform teaching and intervene where needed.
• Maintain high expectations for achievement, behaviour, participation and engagement.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Take part in extracurricular activities, school events, trips and other school initiatives.
• Maintain accurate academic records and complete reports and documentation.
• Promote the school's values and safeguarding, wellbeing and pastoral care of students in line with policy.
• Plan and deliver well-structured mathematics lessons aligned with the curriculum, supporting numerical reasoning, problem-solving and mathematical communication.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and the development of the mathematics programme.

Required profile

• A recognised teaching qualification or certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education or another relevant field.
• Previous experience teaching mathematics at secondary level, ideally in an international or bilingual school.
• Experience delivering Cambridge Lower Secondary Mathematics, CIE IGCSE Mathematics (Core/Extended or Additional) and IBDP Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches and/or Applications and Interpretation) is highly desirable.
• High level of English proficiency.
