Secondary Science Teacher (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)

About the role

Cambridge College Lima, an international school in Lima, Peru, is looking for an experienced, student-centred Secondary Science Teacher to join its academic team. The teacher delivers engaging and challenging Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, fostering scientific enquiry and practical laboratory skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well-structured Science lessons, including practical and laboratory work, aligned with the school's curriculum.
• Help students develop scientific enquiry, experimental design and data analysis skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary learning and the development of the Science programme.
• Create an inclusive classroom that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, discussion and independent learning.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress, giving timely feedback and using assessment data to inform teaching and intervene when needed.
• Maintain high expectations for achievement, behaviour and engagement, and build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Take part in extracurricular activities, school events and trips, keep accurate academic records and safeguard the wellbeing of students.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a Science subject, Education or another relevant field.
• Previous experience teaching Science at secondary level, ideally in an international or bilingual school.
• Experience with Cambridge Lower Secondary Science, CIE IGCSE Combined/Co-ordinated Science and IBDP Sciences is highly desirable.
• A recognised teaching qualification or certification.
• High level of English proficiency.
