Senior Java Software Engineer – Remote

About the role

Coforge is looking for a Senior Software Engineer specialized in Java to design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services. This remote position focuses on creating scalable micro‑service architectures and integrating AI‑enabled capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production‑grade backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and micro‑services.
• Build and optimise RESTful APIs, distributed and fault‑tolerant services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement AI‑driven backend features and API integrations.
• Contribute to system architecture, performance tuning, and continuous improvement in an Agile environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Gradle, and micro‑services architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with REST APIs and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Design and optimisation of distributed, fault‑tolerant systems.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) and AI‑enabled backend workflows.
