Backend Engineer (Elixir) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer specialized in Elixir to design and build real‑time, highly concurrent backend services. The role is fully remote and involves working with the Phoenix framework to deliver scalable, fault‑tolerant systems for global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop robust APIs and backend services using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Implement data persistence and complex queries with Ecto and PostgreSQL.
• Create interactive real‑time features using Phoenix LiveView and OTP patterns.
• Architect concurrent systems employing GenServers and supervision trees for high availability.
• Optimize application performance and maintainability through functional programming best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable distributed production systems.

Required profile

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience with a focus on functional programming.
• Proven expertise in building real‑time, concurrent systems with Elixir and Phoenix.
• Deep understanding of OTP, GenServers, and the BEAM virtual machine.
• Strong experience with Ecto and PostgreSQL for data management.
• Hands‑on experience with Phoenix LiveView.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
